Q. I’m running low on space on my 45g laptop. Can I install programs on my seagate external hardrive, such as Itunes, Word, Excel? All pictures, music, etc are on the Seagate but I only have 1G left on the laptop and it runs slows and freezes up alot.

    Ω it’s better just to store your user files on the external drive
    installing programs on an external drive can cause problems Ω
    also right click on [my computer] or [computer] in vista and select properties;
    in the properties window select the “System Restore” tab; lower the number to 2% and some space should re-appear
    if you haven’t already done so empty the recycle bin, and also right click on it and select properties and lower the number to 2%
    clear your browser(s) cache, and temporary files, history etc.
    if you still don’t have enough space to install then you may have to uninstall programs you aren’t using anymore
