Can The Ati Hybrid Crossfire Technology Of Amd 780g Chipset Lift X1950 Video Card To Directx10?

Q. I am planning to buy a dx10 video card and i am choosing between mid-range priced cards like 8600GT and HD2600XT. But according to forums I have read X1950, which is priced same as the two, is way better in terms of performance. So will ATI hybrid crossfire tech make X1950 play DX10 games?

You can play DirectX10 games, but you won’t have access to DirectX10 features (meaning the games would only play like you were on DirectX9). Given the options, I’d probably go with an 8600GT, nVidia cards tend to be better overall. But if you can afford to spend a bit more, a 9600GT or even a 9800GT would be the way to go.

No the X1950 does not support DirectX 10.
Please note that DirectX 10 only works on Windows Vista.
