How can I stop spyware from re-installing itself?

Q. Somehow I’ve picked up some spyware that gives me popup ads every so often while on the web. I’ve tried AVG, Spybot, Ad Aware and Anti-Spy but it keeps re-installing itself. How can I fix this? Thanks :)

Although it might be further expense I recommend trying Kaspersky Antivirus.

I can say hand on heart that since I started using it myself I’ve had no virus’s or adware/spyware.

u have to find it’s source file and delete it somehow, or there might be some open internet ports that it uses to reenter u’r system

Assuming a trusted site. That spyware would sit inside DRAM or temp folder.

    To clean it:
    1. turn off the system restore
    2. update the anti-spyware
    3. full scan your machine
    4. After scanning, power off your machine
    5. Reboot your machine after 15 min.
    6. turn on your system restore.

If those adware are part of sites which you are visiting; there are no way to clean them. Just go to other sites.

So how did I get infected in the first place?

You usually get infected because your security settings are too low.

Here are a number of recommendations to help tighten them, which will hopefully make you a less likely victim:
