How Will A Mobo With An Ati Chipset Get Along With An Nvidia Card?

Q. I bought my computer as a package deal, so it came with an amd cpu, a mobo with an ati chipset and an ati card. But the card sucks and crashes my comp a lot. I found a deal for a geforce that seems pretty good, but I’m not sure how my comp will handle it and what kind of problems it could cause to use an nvidia card in there. Help?

It will work fine with an Nvidia card. BUT-some ATI chipset boards are hybrid crossfire that uses the onboard ATI graphics in conjunction with an ATI video card. If you have one of those boards you wont be running the hybrid crossfire with an Nvidia card. May not be the video card causing your crashes. Could be the drivers or something else. May buy a new Nvidia card and still have crashs so I’d make sure it was the video card first.
