For under $60 you can buy a new AGP graphics card try for at least a ATI x1600 or Nvidia 6600, Nvidia being preferable because they have universal drivers.

The ATI model numbers are not usually in that range. I don't actually know how much ram you have from the model number, but the 8500 is a mid-low end card, but should still be able to run games on at least low quality on it.
