how to create a home network b/w a wired and wireless computer connected via router?
Q. I have 2 computers, one wireless other wired, both connected via a Linksys WRT54G router. I want to transfer files between the 2. Both are running windows xp. When I try to create home network between the 2 computer, I am only seeing “Setup a wireless network for home or office”. How do I create a connection between these 2 computers when one is wireless other is not. Which setup should i run and on what computer, please be detailed.

if they are connected to the same router then they are already belong to same network and can access each other. all you need to do is share the files you want to transfer so you would be able to access them from the other computer.
see if you can ping the computers by going to Start > Run > cmd. then type ‘ping COMPUTERNAME’ (without the quotes) where COMPUTERNAME is the name of the other computer you want to access. if you get a reply then it means the computers see each other.
to share a folder right click on it and select and select ‘Properties’, then go to the ‘Sharing’ tab and select ‘Share this folder on the network’ and give it a share name.
from the other computer then open windows explorer and type \COMPUTERNAMEShare where COMPUTERNAME is the name of the computer where the files are located and Share is the name you gave to the share.
