How dangerous is it to drop an iPhone in the bathtub while bathing?

Q. I’d love to use my iPhone while relaxing in the bathtub, but am worried about the danger. How dangerous would it be to drop the iPhone in the water?
To make things more clear. I’m wondering how dangerous it is for me. Not the iPhone.

It’d ruin the poor phone. However, no need to worry about getting shocked. This is because saltwater, not freshwater(tap) conducts electricity. So unless your bath water comes straight from the ocean, you’re fine.

relax and talk all you want. but it would be very dangerous to drop the phone while bathing. 1. it will ruin the phone. 2. you might be so frantic trying to find it under the water you might hit you head on the tub knocking yourself out and thus drowning. all joking aside…. the phone has to little power to electricute you so you dont have to worry bout that at all. just an idea though…..you can always put you phone in a ziplock baggy while your in the tub just in case you drop it. that will work fine!!! Ive done that plenty of times so i can answer my phone in the shower and it works great!!!

i dont think it would electrocute you. but you’d definetly fry the phone, and since there’s no insurance plan (thru the cell company) for an iphone… i’d never risk it

It would certainly be a good alibi to upgrade your iPhone for it would defintiely stop working once it’s enjoyed a bath in your tub!

you will be fine. the iphone will be broken. i’ve been in a swimming pool when someone dropped their phone in it, and nobody got electrocuted or anything.

Actually my friend dropped their iTouch in the bathtub and nothing happened to it! Also, you won’t die or anything so its safe for you, risky for the iPhone.
