Can a Windows generated backup from the Windows 7 Beta be restored onto Windows Vista?

Q. I’m using the Windows 7 Beta right now and I backup my data using the backup program built into windows to my external hard drive. I’m wondering if this backup would be able to be restored onto Windows Vista, because I want to go back to Vista. Thanks.

    Hi Q-ington,

The short answer is no. You’re going to need to use your backup discs that you created before you installed Windows 7 and use the recovery discs for your operating system.
