Under Seagate’s 5 year warranty when they send you a replacement drive is it New? or a refurbished model?

Q. Under Seagate’s 5 year warranty when a hard drive is replaced is the one they send you back a refurbished model or a brand new?

I received my replacement in the mail today and I believe the disc is bad. I’ve been high and low working on it in the correct manner. The only thing I haven’t done is run CHKDSK.
