What is the difference between Desktop and Laptop computers?

A Desktop computer has a Hard drive that is a very big box and very messy, while a laptop is very slim and can be carried anywhere you want.
why does a Desktop have such a big box of a hard drive?

Because the internal components (as they are the same), are very different.
The components for the laptop are meant to very compact and fast.
The physical size and its pin configuration are different for both, the more compact is made for the laptop.
The desktop is also very easily upgradable, whereas the laptop is not (just get a new one…)
