Can I access the net from my laptop with no modem driver installed?

wallablack asks
I have a new laptop and am unable to access the net as none of the drivers are installed.
Is there a way around this. I need to access the net to get the rest of the drivers.
I have an installed modem but just no “driver” downloaded.

I don’t think you can access the net there, but how about downloading the modem driver on the computer where you’re posting this question? Put onto a USB drive or something, install on the laptop. Then you can download the other drivers once the modem’s working.
