I’m considering purchasing a linux asus eee pc to take to uni and take notes on, but I’m just wondering whether it is possibly to transfer the notes i take on the eee pc onto my windows pc and edit them on there? And vice versa.

Yes and No if you use operation system microsoft no problem but if worksheet same format no problem
Absolutely, you just have to remember to save the documents in Word format (.doc format).
Ya, just about any linux OS computer uses openoffice instead of microsoft office. Openoffice programs does have the ability to save in office 2003 formats, although the new 2007 formats (those formats with the x at the end of the file extension) have not yet been fully support in openoffice, except for the openoffice writer program for .docx.
Also microsoft has allowed you to add extension to their office programs to open openoffice format files. Such as microsoft word opening openoffice writer format, odt
Open office imports and exports Word documents quite well. Though you might consider switching to Open office period. It’s free, you can install it on just about any OS and it is fast becoming the standard in the business world even though the Word Document format is still the standard. Ironically many times today people are saving Open Office docs in word format and sending them to people who open them in Open office
As for the Asus eee, the distro it comes with is rather flaky. I’d suggest getting some help from an experienced Linux user and putting Fedora or Ubuntu on that machine. You’ll have a much more robust machine but at a very low cost. The appeal of the machine is it’s low costs but high performance. Dell sells laptops pre-configured with Linux on them and out of the box they are quite usable. A bit more expensive than the Asus version but you get more bang for the buck really with the Dell Laptop.
Yes, If you use open office you can save it as almost any version of microsoft word or macintosh version of word. I would sugest that if you cant network the two, plug them into the same router and get skype on both, get two skype accounts and transfer them like that.
