Q&A: how to i put things like pictures, movies, songs in my 1TB Western Digital My Book External Hard Drive?

I try saving them directly to the WD but I don’t think its doing it. Do I need to install it first ? I have no idea how this thing works. Can someone illuminate me? How do I install it and put things in it? What else can u save on it? can u save a back up for the computer?
