    media-convert.com

Word is better, but it costs money, while Open Office is free.

Open the document in a program that supports both formats (OpenOffice.org does natively, I believe there might be a plugin that adds support for MS Office).

Then go to Save As (on the File menu in OpenOffice, and probably off the big Office Logo button where the Control button used to be in MS Office).

Pick the format you want from the drop down menu.

    I prefer OpenOffice.
