Is connecting a console to an LCD monitor as simple as get a Component to DVI cable?

I want to connect my Nintendo Wii to my 24 inch LCD monitor, I bought an RCA Component to DVI on ebay it was pretty cheap so I figure may as well, but I am waiting to get it in the mail, will it work or is there more to it?
I already have an RCA cable and will soon have the other cable will it work or will my monitor not accept the signal?

theres no difference RCA is analogue the cable wont turn the signal to DVI which is hi definition. so the picture will be exactly the same.
