How do I find out what my laptop/monitor can support?

I would like to know what resolution my laptop or monitor supports as I want to play my playstation on these. And whats a dvi input and how do i find out if its input. Please help and if doesn’t support my playstation will it wreck it if i try?

i highly doubt your laptop has a dvi input… (output for sure) but your best bet is to post the make and model on yahoo answers to let someone look into it for you, (its what we do) if not, call or visit the manufacturer’s website. (i highly doubt you will be able to do what you are asking)
