How easy is it to upgrade to Firefox 3?

rocklover asks,
I want to upgrade to Firefox 3 but I want to be able to have my Preferences, Bookmarks, Add-ons, Options, etc. easily or automatically transferred. Does the installer allow this and if not is there another way? I already have an updated version of the one Add-on that needs to be updated for the new version of the browser so that’s just an issue of installing later, however I’d need to remove the current version of the Add-on I’m using currently before installing the new browser’s version but now I’m just ranting I guess.

In the late 1960s, Eliot Wigginton and his students created the magazine Foxfire in an effort to record and preserve the traditional folk culture of the Southern Appalachians. This is the original book compilation of Foxfire material which introduces Aunt Arie and her contemporaries and includes log cabin building, hog dressing, snake lore, mountain crafts and food, and “other affairs of plain living.”

your bookmarks, option, compatible add-ons will be kept.
you just launch the firefox 3 installer and install it just like u install firefox 2, that’s how easy it is.
you can check whether your current addon is compatible with firefox 3 at http://addon.mozilla.org/

    Hiiiiii
Just go to the “Help” menu and select the option “Check for updates…”. If there is a newer version available then you may install it and don’t worry for your bookmarks. They ‘ll be safe. But in case of add-ons, they may not be compatible with the newer version.

    Thanks for reading…

Go to the link in under the SOURCE & there you can find the helpful stuff about the old bookmarks & other useful data.
To get the latest Firefox version, go to “www.mozilla.com/firefox/”

It’s pretty easy to be honest. All your settings should be automatically imported to FF3.

Whlen you have add-ons you like in firefox2, you might not be able to use them any more in Firefox3. I upgraded 2 days ago to firefox 3.0.4.
None of my add ons did work, so I uninstalled fox3 immediately and reinstalled Firefox 2. Also I found firefox 3 extremely slow.

When you have a lot of bookmarks and you want to keep; them. you can do as follows.
Make first of all a direcory and call it bookmarks ( surprise, surprise),
Then open bookmarks – organize bookmarks – file – export
them now to the directory bookmarks you just made.
I made my directory on my d drive. so that I will not loose them when I have to format my computer
