So your having problems validating the office 365 Lync settings when your using a cpanel / WHM based web host? Well here’s the simple trick to get the records added so you can complete the validation of office 365.
When adding a DNS record via WHM, specifically the SRV record you will notice there’s no field for the protocol, which is supplied by office 365
In WHM / Cpanel you can actually specify the protocol by adding it in the first field. The simple trick is you need to append the Protocol with a period and underscore. ._
Your record should look now look like this.
Once you save the record you should be able to validate without issue.
