Every so often we come across a user facing an error similar to this:
The page you have requested cannot be displayed. Another site was requesting access to your Google Account, but sent a malformed request. Please contact the site that you were trying to use when you received this message to inform them of the error. A detailed error message follows:
The site “http://mydomain.com” has not been registered.
We typically experience this when we are trying to authenticate a Google Analytics plugin: Google Analyticator, but users have also confirmed the same issue with a number of scripts and various API accessed google products.
After alot of frustration we have a fix.
- Head to – https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageDomains (while logged in)
- Type in domain you are trying to auth and click add
- click Manage yourdomain.com
- agree to terms and services
- type in http://www.yourdomain.com
- type in description of site or title
- click save
- click return
You should be able to then authenticate with your google account via the troublesome script and have no probelms at all!
Note: some users have advised they needed to supply the full wordpress admin address (http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin)
Let us know if you have any problems with the steps, and the script you are having issues with.
